Nicotinell belongs to a group of medicines used to help people
quit smoking.
Nicotinell contains the active ingredient nicotine.
When Nicotinell is chewed, nicotine is slowly released and absorbed by the
oral mucosa

What is this medicine used for
This medicine is used to treat nicotine withdrawal symptoms in nicotine dependence
as an aid to smoking cessation.

Not to be used with
- You are allergic to nicotine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- If you are a non-smoker

Composition
Active substance: Each Nicotinell chewing gum contains 2 mg of nicotine (in the form of 10 mg of nicotine polacrilin)
Excipients: gum base [contains butylhydroxytoluene (E321)], calcium carbonate, sorbitol (E420), anhydrous sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, polacrilin, glycerol (E422), purified water, levomenthol, tutti aroma, saccharin, sodium saccharin, acesulfame K, xylitol (E967), mannitol (E421), gelatin, titanium dioxide (E171), carnauba wax and talc.

Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Are you unsure about the correct use? Then contact your doctor or pharmacist.
To improve your success in quitting smoking, you should stop smoking completely when you start using the chewing gum, as well as during the entire treatment period.
Nicotinell gum is available in two strengths: 2 mg and 4 mg. The appropriate strength depends on
your past smoking habits.

You should use the Nicotinell 4 mg chewing gum if:
- you are a smoker with a strong or very strong nicotine dependence;
- you have previously failed to give up smoking when using the 2 mg chewing gum;
- your withdrawal symptoms remain so severe that you may start smoking again.
If the above does not apply, the Nicotinell chewing gum of 2 mg should be used
used

If the high strength (4mg chewing gum) causes side effects, use of the low
strength (2 mg chewing gum) should be considered.

Dose for adults over 18 years old
Chew one gum whenever you feel the urge to smoke. In general, one chewing gum should be used for
hour or every two hours. Normally are 8 to 12 pieces of chewing gum per day
Enough. If you still feel the urge to smoke, you can take additional pieces of chewing gum
chew. Do not use more than 24 pieces of the 2 mg chewing gum per day.
The duration of treatment varies from person to person. Normally, the treatment should be at least
to be followed for 3 months. After 3 months, you should increase the number of daily chewing gums
to gradually reduce. Treatment should be stopped when you stop using the
chewing gum to 1 to 2 pieces per day. In general, it is not recommended to use Nicotinell longer
than 6 months of use. Some ex-smokers can take a longer treatment with the chewing gum

Use in children and adolescents

Directions for use
Method of administration:
Start using the product on your quit day. To successfully quit smoking with this
treatment, you should stop smoking completely.
Chew 1 gum whenever you feel the urge to smoke. Do not use more than 1 chewing gum per
time. Do not use more than 1 chewing gum per hour.
1. Slowly chew a gum until the taste becomes strong. Do not eat or drink while chewing gum
have in your mouth.
2. Rest the gum between your gums and your cheek.
3. Start chewing again when the taste disappears.
4. Repeat this chewing process for 30 minutes for a gradual release of nicotine.
Do not swallow
