Nicotinell Mint belongs to a group of medicines used to help people with:
quitting smoking. Nicotinell Mint lozenge contains the active ingredient nicotine.
When you suck on a Nicotinell tablet, nicotine is slowly released and absorbed by the
oral mucosa.

What is this medicine used for
This medicine is used to help people quit smoking. The nicotine in Nicotinell
relieves nicotine withdrawal symptoms and cigarette cravings when you stop smoking
or when you temporarily stop smoking, to make it easier to stop smoking. By the

relapse to more or more smoking against, in smokers who are motivated to quit

Not to be used with
• You are allergic to any of the ingredients in this medicine.
• If you are a non-smoker.

Composition
Active substance: Each Nicotinell Mint 1 mg lozenge contains 1 mg nicotine (in the form of 3.072 mg nicotine bitartrate dihydrate).
Excipients: maltitol (E965), anhydrous sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate polyacrylate, xanthan gum, colloidal anhydrous silica, levomenthol, peppermint oil, aspartame (E951) and magnesium stearate.

Always use Nicotinell Mint lozenge exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Are you unsure about the correct use? Then contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Nicotinell Mint Lozenge is available in two strengths: 1 and 2 mg.
Nicotinell Mint 1 mg lozenge can be used alone (a) or in combination with Nicotinell patches (b).

Adults over 18 years old
(a) Treatment with Nicotinell Mint Lozenges Only
Nicotinell Mint 1 mg lozenge is recommended for low to moderate nicotine dependence (less than 20 cigarettes per day).
It is not recommended for smokers with a strong to very strong nicotine dependence (more than 30 cigarettes per day).

If the high strength (2 mg lozenge) causes adverse reactions, the use of the low strength (1 mg lozenge) should be considered.

Dosage for adults over 18 years old
Suck on a lozenge whenever you feel the urge to smoke. In general, one lozenge should be used every hour or every two hours. Normally 8 to 12 lozenges per day are sufficient. If you still feel the urge to smoke, you may take additional tablets. Do not use more than 24 tablets of the 1 mg lozenges per day (this applies both when you want to stop smoking and when you want to reduce smoking). Do not use more than 1 lozenge per hour.
Nicotinell lozenges should primarily be used for smoking cessation.
